Frequently Asked Questions

Can we combine with the Great Wall?

Yes! Juyongguan Great Wall is only 30 minutes from the Ming Tombs. Many visitors combine both in one day, though it makes for a long day.

Which tombs should we visit?

We recommend Changling (most impressive above-ground architecture) and the Sacred Way. Dingling is interesting for the underground palace but the artifacts are replicas.

How far from Beijing?

The Ming Tombs are about 50 km north of Beijing, approximately 1-1.5 hours by car.
